Aèrio -Venice Biennale

Exhibition

An installation presenting a series of multiscalar solutions with the goal of shaping resilient urban habitats. AÈRIO combines public space occupancy and mobility analysis, estimating CO2 emissions, with the material solution of PURE.TECH, eliminating the main GHG polluting the air.

Presented for the fisrt time at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennale La Biennale di Venezia 2021 – Padiglione Italia- curated by Alessandro Melis, part of the “Architecture as Caregiver” in the Italian Pavilion Resilient Communities at the Arsenale.

Aério is a prototype for urban surfaces and a soft machine conceived as a macro-breathing organ that explores forms of cohabitation of species through the ecology of breathing and investigates health as a public value. The project links three main fields of inquiry: the public realm, socio-technical systems, and health.
